SOFA BED ENVY
It is roughly the same configuration of my L-shaped, corner sofa, but with a double bed and storage. Damn. And it is cheaper.
This is what happens when two designers get together and move to a converted barn in Surrey. Next minute they have half of London looking for a free Babington House experience and they think goddamit I wish this bloody sofa had a pull out double bed and I wish I didn’t have to riffle through a hundred cupboards to find some bedding. Imagine if it was just there. In it’s own perfectly sized storage box, you know, right next to the pull out bed. Cue light-bulb moment. “Don’t worry darling, we’re designers and furniture manufacturers! We could make the perfect sofa. Shall we????” “Roger that. I’ll make some G&Ts while you sketch it out. Don’t forget a version with loose covers so we can dry-clean them.” So sensible. Such razor sharp thinking. It must be the country air.
Leigh, a designer, and partner Abi, former Elle Decoration Contributing Style Editor and Stylist have put together the ‘love your home’ collection. It’s a roll call of classics – Chesterfield sofas, wingbacked chairs, mid-century low chairs and bed heads and full beds which will make you feel like you are living in a boutique hotel. The products are well priced, designed with excellent features and made with more care and elan than the average mass produced furniture. Shame I was so late to the party. From £1999 – £2518. I think they are among the best sofa beds on the market.
